Over a period of six months, two group practice owners and business consultants, Alison Pidgeon and Whitney Owens, will lead you through the step-by-step process to start your own group therapy practice. By the end, you will have established a solid foundation for your growing business as well as hired at least one clinician.
Your Instructor
Alison Pidgeon, LPC owns Move Forward Counseling in Lancaster, PA, a large group practice focused on women’s issues. She is the founder of Move Forward Virtual Assistants, a VA company specifically for group therapy practice owners. She has been helping practice owners start and scale group practices since 2016 through Practice of the Practice. Her favorite part is helping practice owners design their business to fit their lifestyle. Alison hosts the “Grow a Group Practice” podcast, which focuses on various topics related to starting and growing a group practice. She is a mom of 3 boys and proudly drives a minivan.
Whitney Owens is a licensed professional counselor and owns a growing group practice in Savannah, Georgia. Whitney knows first-hand how to start and grow a faith-based practice, as she currently has six clinicians seeing private pay clients at Waters Edge Counseling. Along with a wealth of experience managing a practice, Whitney has an extensive history working in a variety of clinical and religious settings, allowing her to specialize in consulting for faith-based practices and those wanting to connect with religious organizations.
